What Customers Say About Pure:

There's nothing I like better than getting together with my friends and racing against each other. But "Pure" (and most other new racing games) are only for one (local) player. We no longer sit in our parent's basement by ourselves playing video games. There are a lot of tracks to choose from. Sure, I can race multiple real-life opponents online, but it's just not the same. However - this is why I wouldn't buy it. This is what video game racing is all about.

The controls are smooth and responsive. For me, gaming is more of a social event. It doesn't matter whether it's race cars, street cars, motorcycles or ATV's."Pure" is among the new generation of titles that deliver on the promise of next generation racing. Gamers have evolved. And until PS3 and the developers realize this I will hold off on purchasing any more racing games. The visuals are lush and amazing (gone are the days when you couldn't see 50 feet up the road).

And the physics are intense, whether you're looking for a straight race or a tricked-out thrill ride.

Only online multiplayer. The only reason I gave this game 4 and not 5 stars is that it doesn't have a 2 player mode. I was hooked immediately and didn't stop playing for over 6 hours.

What a fun game. Right down to the color of even the smallest parts on your ride. Wow.

I usually play a lot of 3rd and 1st person shooters so this was totally different than what I usually play. An awesome addition to anyone's collection. Lots of tracks to race through, lots of fun tricks, great graphics, and a fully customizable ATV.

After you win a race they give you news parts and upgrades for your ATV to further customize it to your liking.

The only thing I would change would be to make it 4 player split screen so you can play it with your friends in the same room, rather than having to play online The game looks great and is fun to play. Challenging without being frustrating.

I love to free roam and create my own paths. I am disappointed that it is not multiplayer, but single player is definitely a blast. If you love racing and big jumps, it is worth a try. There were a couple of times during gameplay where I actually felt like I was free falling (the jumps were that insanely high). It consists of three race modes; Race, Sprint, and Freestyle. Pure has insane graphics and beautiful scenery. It's not perfect, but it's pretty dang fun. Lots of colors and styles to choose from.

I had hoped that Pure would be similar to ATV Offroad Fury (PS2). I bought pure because I have been a lover of ATV/Motorcycle racing games since excitebike on the Nintendo. Very entertaining. I am miffed about how they start you at the back of every race. I'm too chicken to do stuff in real life, so Pure offered a way for me to get some big air and do some sweet tricks.

The jumps and tricks are insanely unreal, but who cares, that is why I play games. All in all I enjoy the game. I like it. But I overcame it and was still able to enjoy each race. Sadly, Pure does not allow you to free roam at all. Previous win positions or World Tour positions didn't let me start the race any closer to the front of the pack, and that was frustrating. The music is upbeat without being inappropriate for a young crowd.

My wife laughed at me. I learned to love creating my own ATV in this game, and the good thing is you end up being able to create about 9 of them. All are fun. There are multiple routes that you can explore, but I was still disappointed.

As it is, the soundtrack is decent, but I can't really tell what's there. The tracks are well-designed, but you won't remember any of them two months from now.I look back at this review and realize that I've spend the majority of it making criticisms. SSX meets MotorstormPure isn't the definitive racing experience, but it's definitely a great time in short to medium length sittings. Unlike Motorstorm, Pure doesn't offer an array of vehicles to choose from; this is an ATV game. On the other hand, Pure's track design simply doesn't offer the same amount of depth and character as Motorstorm. Like Motorstorm, the game offers a relatively linear progression of races; the interface in this regard looks almost lifted from Motorstorm, itself.Pure has some nice production values, though they fail to reach levels established by EA in the SSX games. In potential sequels, I'd like to see some notification in the bottom of the screen when a new song starts.

If you prefer the addition of tricks, Pure is the right choice. In comparing the two, each have relative strengths.

In this sense, the game offers that pseudo-rpg sense that series like Need for Speed have been exploiting to good effect for the last 5 years. I hate to mention a previous game so many times as a descriptor of this one, but the comparison is quite valid.

In a nutshell, the game combines a complicated trick system (a la the SSX games) with the off-road vistas of Motorstorm. Additionally, the game offers up a set of player characters, but the art and voice-acting (if it can be called that) will make you want to strangle whomever you pick. The physics and general gameplay of Pure feel very much like Motorstorm plus tricks.

Please note that these act more as exceptions to the fact that this is a great game. However, Pure does allow the player to 'build' an ATV from the ground up and periodically offers race rewards in the form of part upgrades.

Slick menus follow you wherever you go.
